SAMSHA grant awarded to UT Student Counseling Center
The Student Counseling Center has received a 3-yr $300,000 grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The SAMSHA press release HERE.
The project title is: "VolAware Suicide Prevention Initiative," and the co-investigators are Connie S. Briscoe, Marci S. Burroughs, Brent S. Mallinckrodt, and Daniel W. Reilly (listed alphabetically, since all are equal contributors). Funds will include 5% released time for Brent Mallinckrodt, Professor and Director of the Graduate Program in Counseling Psychology, and two 40% assistantships. These assistantships will be open campus-wide, and both Counseling and Clinical students can apply.
