Research Interests

Co-leadership of group interventions, process and outcomes of group interventions, intergroup dialogues, multicultural issues, team cognition

Research Statement

My research interests are in the areas of process and outcomes of group interventions, and multicultural issues. As such, a specific area of interest for me is the process and outcomes of intergroup dialogues. Intergroup dialogue is a form of small group intervention, based on Allport’s (1954) contact hypothesis, that bring together individuals from social identity groups that have typically had a history of tension or conflict with the goals of creating sustained communication across groups, raising consciousness about social issues, and building bridges across groups (e.g., Zuniga, Nagda, & Sevig, 2002). I am also interested in the processes involved in the co-leadership of group interventions more broadly, and how co-leadership affects group outcomes.
