The Department of Psychology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, invites applications for three tenure-track Assistant Professor positions and for one advanced Associate Professor/Profession position for the academic year beginning in August, 2007. For the Assistant Professor positions, two are in our Clinical Program and one is in our Experimental Program. The senior position is for Director of the Graduate Program in Counseling Psychology. The Department currently consists of 31 faculty and four full-time lecturers in three Ph.D. programs (Clinical, Counseling, and Experimental). Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology
One of the clinical positions is specific to child clinical psychology and the other is open to any of the content areas of Clinical Psychology. Applicants must have received the Ph.D. from an APA-accredited program, and must have demonstrated skills necessary for outstanding research and the clinical supervision of student practitioners. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate potential for extramural funding. Assistant Professor of Experimental Psychology
In the Experimental Program the search is specific to the area of cognitive development. Candidates should have a Ph.D., a strong research record, and an enthusiasm for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate potential for extramural funding. The Experimental Program comprises the following research areas: Biological, Developmental, and Social. Associate/Full Professor and Director, Counseling Psychology Program
The Department of Psychology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position to serve as Director of Training in Counseling Psychology, effective August 2007. An earned doctorate in Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program and completion of an approved internship are required. Applicants for this position should be at the full Professor or senior Associate Professor level (minimum of three years at rank). Position responsibilities include research, teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and graduate supervision, as well as serving as Director of the APA-accredited Graduate Program in Counseling Psychology. Candidates must be licensed. While the search is open to all areas, preference will be given to those with interests in practicum training, vocational theory, research methodology, or multicultural counseling. The successful candidate should have a nationally recognized research program with extramural funding experience.
