Counseling

The counseling psychology program, based upon the scientist-practitioner model of training, places emphasis on the acquisition of scientific knowledge and research skills, as well as the development of professional competencies in counseling. Concerns and problems that individuals or groups encounter in coping with academic, career, personal and interpersonal situations are research foci in the program. Experimental and quasi-experimental designs, correlational studies, qualitative and/or phenomenological investigations and observational methods are used in assisting students in the development of solid research skills.
