Beginning in their 5th term as college students, psychology majors are assigned a faculty mentor who will assist them in following an established academic plan and provide advanced academic and career mentoring. Students at this level are expected to take responsibility for their own course scheduling. Prior to their yearly advising appointment, advanced students should prepare an academic plan to present for their mentor's review. During the appointment, faculty will approve the plan and answer basic curriculum questions, but the focus of the advising appointment will be on making the most out of your psychology major.
Advanced students who need to make significant changes to their degree plan (study abroad, petitions, adding second majors or minors, etc) may be referred to the advising center for specialized consultation.
Students who are unsure of who their faculty mentor is can look up their assignment in their MyUTK student profile.
