Counseling Psychology Graduate Student Charlotte Strauss Swanson Wins National Research Award


Charlotte Strauss Swanson, a second year student in the counseling doctoral program who works with Dawn Szymanski, is the winner of the AWP/SPW Annual Student Prize for Psychological Research on Women and Gender for her research study titled, “From pain to power: An exploration of activism, the #MeToo Movement, and healing from sexual assault trauma.”

She will receive an award plaque and a $250.00 prize for having the best paper at the American Psychological Association conference this August. She will also receive free one-year memberships to both the Society for the Psychology of Women (APA Division 35) and the Association for Women in Psychology (AWP), and is invited to present her award-winning paper at the 2021 AWP Conference.
