C. Daniel Batson

Adjunct Professor

Key words: Social Psychology, altruism, empathy, moral motivation and emotion

Research

My research interests center on prosocial motivation and emotion. This has led me to conduct experiments to test for the existence of altruism (vs. egoism) in humans, to assess the nature of moral motivation, and to understand the psychological antecedents and consequences of empathy-induced altruistic motivation.
