Research Statement
I have three related research interests in applied in organizational psychology. My main focus, workplace team effectiveness, has involved both empirical studies and reviews of published research. Recent field studies examined team composition and performance in military teams and citizenship behavior and performance in service and production teams. I am working now on an integrative review of 21st Century meta-analyses (statistical compilations of empirical findings) on factors in group effectiveness. A second, continuing research interest, personality and satisfaction, has lately involved a new study of personality traits associated with career satisfaction in an occupational group in a cross-section of industries, training and development professionals. Third, my interest in industry-university-government research cooperation has involved case studies of group dynamics and longevity of multi-university cooperative research centers.
