Hollie Pellosmaa, PhD

Teaching Associate Professor

Courses Taught: Foundations of Behavioral Neuroscience (PSYC 301), Motivation (PSYC 320), Health Psychology (PSYC 430), Neuroscience Lab (PSYC 489), and Faculty-led Study Abroad (NEUR 482)

Interests: Health effects of long-term stress; Mental and physical health effects of coping with chronic diseases, such as diabetes, and other metabolic conditions; Social influences on stress and health; Stress resilience; Psychoneuroimmunology

Dr. Hollie Pellosmaa, Senior Lecturer in Neuroscience, is a first-generation college graduate who completed her Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience/Health Psychology at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2016. Prior to joining UTK, Dr. Pellosmaa was an Associate Professor at Tusculum University in east Tennessee. She and her husband have two sons and have made East Tennessee their home.
